Power & Force
Many confuse the terms but they’re distinctly different and important to understand. Power frees and unbinds movement, whereas Force can easily get blocked and restricted.
Power is stable, energetic, endlessly emanating. It is stillness in relaxed motion affecting anything within its sphere of influence. Power doesn’t exhaust nor fatigue as it doesn’t clash against anything, yet moves passed things.
Force on the other hand, moves in a resistant, directional manner, can easily be sourced to the point of origin and as involves muscular exertion, is finite in scope and duration. Force opposes and resists pressure until it can no longer continue.
In this clip, Charles Hoge MD., Col. US Army (Ret.) experiences the difference between Power and Force firsthand.
Although it doesn’t seem that way, Charles is doing his best to restrict and resist my movement with his exceptionally strong root from many years of internal practice.
